Wailea and Surroundings

DWailea and SurroundingsC

Wailea is Maui’s premier resort community, and is home to the island’s poshest hotels, golf courses, restaurants and shopping. The weather year-round is generally sunny with warm tropical breezes, and it is here that you will find some of the most beautiful white sand beaches on Maui — with clear, sheltered bays and lava outcroppings alive with tropical marine life.

To the south of Wailea lies the quiet residential community of Makena, and to the north, the bustling beach town of Kihei (pronounced “Key-hey”). Here are a few of the area highlights:

Wailea & Makena Beaches

Among the most pristine on the island, some of our favorite beaches are: Wailea Beach (calm, clear and fun for people watching), Ulua Beach (popular spot for diving and snorkeling), Big Beach/Oneloa (a beautiful, often uncrowded stretch of white sand; surf picks up here in the summer and local kids come to launch aerials off their skimboards).
